Turok was released for the Xbox360 at the beginning of February 2008. This is another game in the Turok series where Turok: Dinosaur Hunter for the Nintendo 64 was the first game released in the Turok series.

The gameplay is a lot of fun. You go around shooting and fighting off anyone or anything that poses a threat whether that is soldiers or dinosaurs. The gameplay is easy because at least in the beginning, while you explore you have a partner watching your back most of the time. Also if you get lost or forget what your current objective is, you can tap the left bumper on your controller, and not only will your current objective show up, an arrow will show up pointing you in the correct direction to go in to help you if you become lost. One thing that helps with the difficulty of the game also is that the dinosaurs attack your enemies so the dinosaurs could hurt you in a fight or they could end up helping you. The controller though is where some people might have problems. When you aim a gun you have to line it up with the right analog stick so some people who do not like having to aim that way might have a problem with it. Also if a dinosaur gets an advantage over you, you can have to stab it repeatedly with your knife to save yourself. However, no problems were experienced personally when it came to executing the controls.

The story starts with you playing the role of a character named Turok. You and your crew’s plane crash and when you awaken, you have to try to find your team. Also, your objective is that you have to take out your former commander Kane and then escape. Also, some members of your team have problems with Turok. Not only that but more of the story comes along through cutscenes as the game goes on.

The graphics and sound are wonderful. I do not think the graphics could have been done any better. Also, it’s nice to see different kinds of dinosaurs walking around. Also, the soldiers look like they belong in the game knowing what we know about the story. When it comes to sound, everybody sounds like they should whether they are a soldier that is an ally, or enemies. The cutscenes from the beginning pulled me into the story right away.

I am not sure if any replayability happens or what is left once you beat the game. As for how much playtime the game has, a lot of areas you will not get through the first time so this game will require some trial and error.

I give Turok an 8 out of 10. There were no flaws I saw with the game but it didn’t have those little ants that were in Turok: Dinosaur Hunter at least not yet and I did start to lose interest very quickly.
