Vampire Rain Review

Vampire Rain for the XBox360 was released at the beginning of July 2007. It’s a game that requires stealth because the chances of surviving one encounter are slim to none.

This game has no fun at all. You run around different parts of the level, climbing over buildings and trying to stay out of your enemy’s sight. A lot of the missions are just getting from point A to point B without being seen.

The game’s difficulty level is not better at all. Once a “vampire” has you in their sight, the vampire chases you running at full speed and you die after two hits even on full health. You might as well die after one hit though because after you get hit once, you are on the ground defenseless and the vampire just hits you again before you can get up so there is no way to defend yourself. Staying out of the vampire’s sight is not going to help much either. Sometimes there is a cone of sight on your radar but you don’t have to be in their cone of sight for them to see you. A vampire could be looking in a different direction, you could be on top of the building across the street and the vampire can still see you. However, the faults do not stop there. Night Vision goggles are useless because they only work for ten seconds before recharge, which also takes ten seconds.

The controls surprisingly work well. The controls are responsive and do what they are supposed to do. The only positive thing about this game is that the controls work fine.

The story of the game is that you are a special operations soldier and you got to eliminate these nightwalkers (not vampires) before they wipe out the human race. It’s also raining which is supposed to make the nightwalkers less powerful.

The graphics are mediocre at best. That’s all there is to say about the graphics and the same goes for the sound. There is no music except for when the vampire sees you but it does not make you want to play this game anymore.

The playtime for this game is unsure because I’m not sure how many people would put up with the garbage of this game to get to the ending. There is also an Xbox live option with multiplayer but I’m not sure how many people would try it out after the disaster that is the single-player mode.

I give this game a 2 out of 10. While this game is worthless, I do have to admit the controls were done correctly somewhat. Unfortunately, everything else that was done in this game was done horribly wrong,
