When you think of different series from the old Telltale Games, one series that will always come up is The Walking Dead. The Walking Dead was not the first game in this format that TellTale Games made. Telltale also made games like the 2010 Back To The Future game and Jurassic Park on XBox 360 before this game but The Walking Dead got a lot more notoriety than those other games. Why did so many people pay attention to the first game of The Walking Dead: The TellTale series?

There are a few different aspects when it comes to the gameplay. You do press buttons to perform various actions and move Lee around but the biggest aspect of the gameplay is conversation choices. There are a lot of conversations that happen in the game and how you choose to react to these conversations will have an impact on who stays loyal to you throughout the game and who may end up turning into an enemy.

The gameplay is pretty easy. There may be a puzzle where you have to make an enemy who has a gun on you back up into a zombie that can’t get any closer. Other than those scenarios which require puzzle solving, the game is very easy to play through and complete.

I have no problem with the controls. Whether it’s walking around doing objectives or choosing conversation choices, the controls always responded and never gave me any problems. So there is nothing I would change about the controls.

The story of the game starts the same way but the story will change depending on the choices you make so it is possible you could end up with a different story than someone else. Lee Everett is being arrested and taken to jail. While he is being driven to jail, he is in a crash after the cop driving hit a zombie with his car. Lee escapes from the car and the cop who has become a zombie and Lee arrives at a house after going through the woods.

Lee helps himself into a house hoping to find help and he finds a walkie-talkie with a child hiding in their treehouse because the babysitter had become a zombie. The child is named Clementine and after Lee earns her trust, they leave together hoping to find more survivors.

The graphics for the game can be described like a moving comic book. I like the graphics in the game. The characters look like you would expect them to and no setting gets too old. So there is nothing I would change about the graphics.

The same goes for the sound. The characters sound believable and no one sounded uninspired while reciting their lines. I also like the music in the game and I like the sound effects. So there is nothing I would change about the sound.

The only bad part about the game is replayability. If you get the ending you wanted then there is no reason to go through the game again. The path you take in this game will have a impact on how the sequels play out so you really would not want to play through the game again unless you were hoping to get different results.

The gameplay is fun and the game is pretty easy to complete. There is nothing I would change about the controls. I love how the story starts and your choices impact how the story will play out. I have no problems with the graphics or sound but the game is lacking in replayability. I give the Walking Dead: A TellTale Series on the XBox 360 9 out of 10. I definitely recommend you check out this game because you don’t have to be a fan of The Walking Dead TV show to enjoy this game.
