50 Cent: Blood On The Sand Review

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand was released for the XBox360 near the end of February 2009. This is the second game starring 50 Cent with the first one being 50 Cent: Bulletproof.

The gameplay is a lot of fun. You have a lot of enemies to take care of and a lot of different guns including pistols, machine guns, and rocket launchers just to name a few. You also have a melee attack where you can get into a fistfight with an enemy which is sometimes more fun than getting into a shouting match with a bunch of enemies.

The gameplay is pretty easy although there were some hard parts. One part that I didn’t agree with was you had to shoot down an enemy who was in an airplane but I had to hit the airplane six times with a rocket launcher before that enemy was history. Also, you end up having to run to the different balconies on the different levels of the building to get a good shot at the airplane. The melee fight is also easy because you just have to press a button near an enemy to activate it then you have to press the same button three times at the right time to successfully take out your opponent during the fight. You also have a sidekick running around with you and you can choose from Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, or DJ Whoo Kid. Besides the voices and how each character appears though, I did not recognize any differences between the three people you can choose but one problem is if you want to team up with a second player, you can only play a two-player game via Xbox Live. Another thing that made the game easy was you were shown where to go with a spot on the screen followed by the distance remaining like used in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

The controls are pretty easy. Everything gets displayed when it comes time to push a certain button and no actions were delayed or not even recognized. There were no problems when it came to the controls of the game.

The story is that 50 Cent and G-Unit just finished performing a concert and they go to get paid but the person who is supposed to pay them can’t afford to pay them so he gives 50 Cent a skull with diamonds all over it and 50 Cent accepts the skull as compensation for the money he was owed. However, while 50 Cent and G-Unit are trying to get home, 50 Cent gets ambushed and the skull gets stolen so it is time for 50 Cent and G-Unit to go get the skull back.

The graphics and sound in the game are great. If you don’t like 50 Cent’s music then that person will have a different opinion although you could empty the playlist if you don’t want to listen to 50 Cent’s music. The graphics were done wonderfully and pulled me in the whole time I was playing the game.

The game has replayability because after you beat the game, there are unlockables to unlock including music videos and you have to get a high score to unlock everything in every level. The game also took a fair amount of time to beat.

I give this game a 9 out of 10. A couple of minor things should have been taken care of like the airplane taking six rockets to take down and the option for two-player without the requirement of Xbox Live. Other than those two things, 50 Cent: Blood On The Sand is a great game.
