Caesar’s Palace Review

What would you do if you wanted to take a trip to Caesar’s Palace but could not afford to go to Las Vegas? Virgin Interactive thought the best thing to do was release a game like Caesar’s Palace. This doesn’t sound appealing to most people but how many people stop doing missions in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and start playing blackjack or video poker in the casinos? So maybe this game wasn’t a bad concept after all but how was this game in execution?

You walk around a casino and you can play any game you would like whether it be slots, blackjack, video poker, kino, or craps. There are some tables you won’t be able to play at until you win at the cheaper tables. There is also a password in case you have to turn the game off and want to come back to it later. One thing that doesn’t make sense is the length of the password. Why is the password so long? All it’s keeping track of is the amount of money you have.

The difficulty of the game depends on your knowledge of these games. Most people interested in this game would know how to play these games. The only part I had difficulty with was with the OTB. The betting windows closed when I was trying to place a bet but other than that, the other games were easy to play.

There is one problem with the controls. When you start playing a game and you want to quit playing a different game, you have to press down on the D-Pad and Start to get out of the game. Why does it require two buttons? It would be best if they limited the getting out of a game command to one button but it’s two.

There is no story in the game, You walk around a casino playing games you would expect to find in a casino. If there is anything you want to achieve in this game then that would be your personal preference.

The graphics are boring. While the casino looks nice with the dealers standing behind the blackjack tables and the games look noticeable in their areas the casinos are empty. No other people are playing the games, and the casino looks like it has no energy.

There is music that plays in the background that I didn’t enjoy, and the sound effects were average. That’s all there was to say about the sound.

The game may start fun but the fun will wear off quickly. If you are familiar with how to play games in a casino, they’re not going to be hard to play here. The controls should have just used the start button to get out of games when you wanted to play something else. The graphics are not that great because the casino has a very boring vibe to it. I didn’t enjoy the music and the sound effects were fine. So I give Caesar’s Palace on the Sega Genesis a 5 out of 10. It would be better if you just saved your money for a real trip to Vegas instead of playing this game.
